About Tour de Kids
Tour de Kids is an annual physically challenging weeklong cycling challenge, transporting executives from the daily grind to an epic journey on the roads of Australia, with the aim of raising vital funds for the Starlight Children's Foundation and other minor beneficiaries.
What started out as a group of mates combining their passion for cycling with the desire to help Australian kids, has resulted in $4.5 million being raised for a variety of children’s health and well being programs.
The 1100km Tour itself is a feat of endurance which places the riders in a very different realm from their every day life in the board room or in front of a computer. Tour de Kids replicates the Tour de France in Australia, complete with competition jerseys for exceptional conduct either on or off the bike.
In 2012, Tour de Kids is departing Australian shores for the first time and heading to the challenging but picturesque terrain of the South Island of New Zealand – from Christchurch to Queenstown via Arthur’s Pass and the West Coast.
TDK's principal charity is the Starlight Children’s Foundation. The composition of the remaining supported charities are determined in consultation with our major sponsors. All charities benefiting from Tour de Kids focus on the health and wellbeing of children.
The cyclists themselves pay all the event costs, thus ensuring ALL of the funds raised go directly to the chosen beneficiaries.
In 2012, Tour de Kids aims to raise AU$500,000!
Help reach this target by sponsoring a rider or donating to the cause today!
